Jewish teens throughout the South Area of Massachusetts are invited to join TELEM’s first regional collaborative program. Teens from participating congregations have the option of joining any one of six TELEM service-learning programs, offering many opportunities to participate in the hottest Jewish service-learning program in Boston! The six programs all meet at different times to help very busy teens find one program time that will work for them.
In addition to the weekly program, South Area TELEMyouth will offer service trip experiences and a variety of activities and events to get involved with.
Please see the chart below for the participating congregations and program meeting times and locations. To sign up, fill out this form and send it to the coordinator of the TELEM program you would like to join!

TELEM is a service-learning program for Jewish teens that brings out the best in each participant. Teens from after school Hebrew School programs, youth groups and day schools are paired with community-based organizations that provide hands-on opportunities for teens to volunteer and make a difference in people’s lives. The semester or year-long service experience, coupled with learning about Jewish values of tikkun olam and social justice, creates a meaningful and impactful experience for each participant. This is a program that engages teens in service and relationship building with people they would not typically meet in their daily lives. TELEM challenges teens to go beyond their comfort zones and grow as individuals and as people who can make a difference in the lives of others.
