Cradles to Crayons
TELEM’s second year was launched in style on Sunday, November 5th, when over 50 students from partner institutions gathered at Cradles to Crayons for a day of service, learning, community building and fun. In keeping with TELEM’s service learning model, participants discussed and debated the themes of a Jewish text and learned about the systemic issues of poverty perpetuating the need for organizations like Cradles to Crayons. Then, as a DJ played their favorite tunes, the group sorted toys and clothes, assembled outfits and inspected toys and games for low-income children. At the end of the day, each participant went home with a TELEM t-shirt and a sense of accomplishment.
