It's been said by many that it takes a village to raise a child, and having two teenagers of my own, I can agree whole-heartedly with that snippet of wisdom. Teachers, friends, doctors, relatives, coaches and so many others all play significant roles in helping a young child grow to become the best s/he can be. The broader or bigger the village, the more resources you have to bring to bear on a child's growth and well-being.
And it's not too much of a stretch to say that it also takes a village to run TELEM. There are dozens of partners and organizations that contribute to making the program the success that it is: temples and synagogues, schools and after school programs, service sites, donors, parents, students and educational staff. Each one of those partners makes a significant contribution to the TELEM village and each one of them contributes to the health and growth of our program. The TELEM teens are enriched in so many ways by the scope and breadth of our village.
So it is with great pride and gratitude that I welcome many new partners to the TELEM program this year. We truly appreciate their participation and look forward to partnering with them for many years to come.
